Up was one of the best movies I've seen in ages.
I really don't have anything else to say about it - I have absolutely no complaints for once. It was just lovely, and I have never cried so much during a movie.
It made me feel really happy, despite all the crying. And that's what a movie is supposed to do - it's not about special effects, having famous actors, or lots of explosions. It's supposed to make you feel happy after you come from it, even if the film itself is the most depressing thing you've ever seen. You're supposed to feel some sort of semblance of happiness because someone took the time to do a movie and it shows. Not to mention Pixar films always give you the sort of feeling that maybe humanity is okay.
Of course right after we got back we turned on the news and I heard about the 80 year old man that shot up a Holocaust museum, and that small twinge of faith was gone, but the glow was nice.
I think I've made enough of a pretentious twat out of myself for one entry, so I'll stop here.
P.S. Fuschias are hilarious/adorable plants! They look like little ladies!
